• 2/2/10 - English I - Monologue Assignment
  For this assignment, you will write a monologue from the point of view of Framton Nuttel, Mrs. Sappleton, or Vera from “The Open Window” that describes the events of the story from your character’s perspective and how the character felt during the events that unfolded.
  
  Using the events of the story and what you know about the characters, you will be responsible for handing in a double-spaced monologue in 12 pt. Times New Roman font and you will present your monologue in front of the class. Your presentation must be at least two minutes long.
  
  You will submit your monologue with this assignment sheet and the attached rubric. The monologue will be graded based on organization, purpose, word choice and delivery.
  
  While your classmates present their monologues, you will be responsible for grading your classmates using the rubric. In addition, you will write at least two elements of the monologue you liked and at least two elements that you feel could use some work. Once all monologues have been presented, you will hand in your grading sheets.
  
  You will receive 10% of your grade for presenting for at least two minutes in front of the class, up to 10% of your grade for grading your classmates and up to 80% of your grade will be assessed based on the rubric.
  
  Your monologue will be due on Thursday, February 4, 2010.
